Old wooden ship with 27 people on board sank in Indonesia

   The ship Putri Ayu sank in Maluku Province, Indonesia. The ship is is quite old, with wooden hull and purpose for carrying passengers and cargoes between the provinces of Indonesia. The ship left Slamet Riyadi, loaded with building materials and 22 passengers and 5 crew members on board. The ship's master negligeed the warning for heavy sea, strong wind and high waves. Three hours after leaving the port of Slamet Riyadi, the ship was hit by several waves, some of which were over 5 meters in hight, which damaged the hull and flooded the holds and engine rooms. The water in the engine room caused blackout and the drifting vessel was devoted to the sea power. Only for a few minutes the ship's hull was seriously damaged the ship sank, leaving all the passengers, crew and cargo into the water.
