Container ship got engine failure off Thessaloniki

Jaguar Ship   The container ship Jaguar got blackout and was disabled near Greece. The vessel left Thessaloniki port with course to Piraeus, while a few miles off suffered engine failure and left drifting. The cargo ship sent distress signal, but meanwhile the problem was fixed by the duty engineers and the vessel returned to the Thessaloniki port. After inspection and repair by the local specialists, the vessel resumed the voyage to Piraeus. On board of the container carrier there were 1122 TEU for various ports in Greece and Black Sea. The accident caused no damages, no pollution and no injured crew members. The ship is working as freighter collecting container from various small ports for large container ships, which are making long international voyages.

   The container ship Jaguar (IMO: 9127007) was built in 1996 in the shipyard of Ps Werften Stralsund in Stralsund, Germany. The vessel has length of 190.00 meters and draft when fully loaded of 9.30 meters. The deadweight of the container ship Jaguar is 14,643 DWT and gross tonnage of 12,029 GRT. The ship is operating under the flag of Liberia for the Greek company of Ciel Shipmanagement.
