The world’s largest operator of regasification ship Excelerate Energy announced that will sign contract with Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering for building of eight Floating Storage and Regasification Units (FSRUs). This contract will allow the company to expand its fleet of nine FSRUs and to cover the demands of the LNG import growth. The price of the contract was not announced, but the eight vessels will have length of 294.00 m, beam of 46.00 m and capacity for 173,400 cubic meters. The Floating Storage and Regasification Units will have average send-out capacity of 800 MMcf/d, while the maximum one will be over 950 MMcf/d. The delivery of the eight vessels is expected to be done in 2015 and 2016, when the maritime transport market will have more serious growth according to the analyzers.
The news FSRUs will have the most modern equipment and engineering implemented, which will increase its efficiency. The vessels will have increase loading and discharging debit and will have improved cargo space. Together with this, the ships have increased strength and safety.
