Seven people were rescued from a life craft by the wood chip carrier Forestal Diamante. On board of the cargo vessel received the distress signal from the sinking ship Golden Eagle and headed to the accident area. The cargo ship Forestal Diamante reached the position, which was on about 300 miles North-West of Johnston Atoll, Hawaii. Navigating to the activated EPIRB system, the wood chip carrier found the life craft with seven people on board. After the successful rescue operation the wood chip carrier Forestal Diamante headed to the Johnston Atoll port in Hawaii, where the medical equips will care about the rescued people.
