Hanjin Hirose is one of the newest bulk carriers, which entered into the fleet of the Japanese company Kyowa Sansho. The cargo ship was built by Sanoyas Mizushima Works and Shipyard in 2011. The vessel is Panamax bulk carrier, which has improved propulsion system and long-stroke main engine for low fuel consumption and better efficiency. The overall length of the bulk carrier Hanjin Hirose is 229.00 meters, while the length between perpendiculars is 224.00 meters. The beam of the ship is 32.24 meters, the depth is 20.20 meters and the maximum summer draft is 14.60 meters. The ship has deadweight of 83,494 metric tons and gross tonnage of 44,372 gross tons. The vessel has really strong hull, designed with double hull technology, which increases the safety of the ship and its strength. Also such technology gives better stability and better positioning of the ballast system. The cargo spaces are also improved, providing grain capacity of 96,121 cubic meters. The cargo ship Hanjin Hirose is really designed to be profitable, environmental and efficient.
The engineering system of the bulk carrier Hanjin Hirose (IMO: 9442536) is designed according to the latest standards of IMO and the ship-owner. The main engine is MAN B&W 6S60MC-C, which has total output power of 14,396 hp. Such power is transmitted to the propulsion system, which is designed with low loses of energy and increased efficiency. The engine is low-speed and long-stroke and combined with a high-efficiency propeller, allow the vessel to reach service speed of 14.0 knots, with low fuel consumption. The new systems, which are integrated by Sanoyas, of their own developments made the ship more effective and really with low CO2 emissions. The shipbuilder installed also special fuel oil heating system, which is installed in the fuel oil storage tanks to avoid, damage of the cargo from overheating and to reduce and save the steam consumption. Also the improved design of the double hull gives large spaces for the ballast and fuel tanks and together with this protection for the cargo. The paint of the hull and the grunt are also important part of the ship’s hull, as the non corrosive paint keeps the cover of the hull and decreases the water resistance. Definitely the builders and architects of the ship Hanjin Hirose made fantastic design, integrated modern technology and strong and reliable engineering into one project. The Panamax bulker is not only modern, but also highly profitable and environmental, with decreased CO2 emissions and low fuel consumption.
