The bulk carrier Nefterudovoz-52M, which was loaded with 2,761 tons of steel, ran aground in river Volga. The ship was headed to Astrakhan from Rostov-on-Don, fully loaded with cargo. The cargo ship has encountered on a mud bank and the the bow part hit the bottom, but the other part of the hull stayed on water. There were no damages over the hull of the ship, so after being tugged back, the ship continue the voyage to Astrakhan. The reason for the accident most probably was human mistake, as the ship drifted a little for the navigation route and the bow hit a mud bank of the river.
