Santa Ursula container ship was launched

Santa Ursula   The German maritime transport company Hamburg Sud and the operator Columbus Shipmanagement, launched their newest container ship Santa Ursula. The vessel was christened in Santos port, Brazil as the main investor into the ship was the Vice President of Marfrig Alimentos S/A – Marcia A. M. dos Santos. The ship will be the new class, highly modern and environmental vessel, which meets all the standards of IMO and integrates many new developments from the shipbuilder. The vessel was built in the South Korean shipyard by Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering, where are created definitely the largest and most modern ships of the world. Santa Ursula will have large capacity, powerful engineering and really impressive dimensions. The overall length of the container ship is 299.90 m, while the length between perpendiculars is 285.20 m. The moulded beam of Santa Ursula is 42.80 m and the maximum draft is 11.60 m. The container ship has deadweight of 93,430 DWT and gross tonnage of 74,000 GRT. The ship has capacity for 7,100 TEU, as on board can be loaded 1,600 reefer plugs. The vessel was designed really with great quality and modern technologies. Santa Ursula meets the growing demands for exports of fresh fruits, vegetables, fish and meet, which Brazil has last years.

   The container vessel Santa Ursula (IMO: 9430387) will operate as trans-ocean voyages, mostly between Brazil and Europe. The ship is the largest one in the fleet of Hamburg Sud, but also is expected to be one of the most useful and most profitable ship in the world.
