A new Suezmax crude carrier was completed in Samsung Heavy Industries and delivered to the ship-owners Concordia Maritime. The ship was christened Stena Supreme and will be the largest vessel in the fleet of the ship-owner. The vessel was built according to the latest standards of the South Korean Shipyard and combines new technologies in the engineering, hull design and cargo holds. The ship was built with double hull and double sides technology, following the best practices of the Asian shipyard. The ship has length of 274.23 meters, beam of 48.00 meters and depth of 23.20 meters. Stena Supreme has length between perpendiculars of 264.00 meters and maximum summer draft of 16.00 meters. The vessel has designed deadweight of 146,700 DWT ahd cargo volume of 175,000 cubic meters. Really the ship is one of the most profitable and largest ships, built last year. The main engine of Stena Supreme is MAN B&W 6S70ME-C8, which has total output power of 21,100 hp. The ship has service speed of 14.5 kn and voyage range of 23,000 nautical miles and equipment for cargo loading and discharging according to the most modern developments of the Asian ship-yard.
The crude carrier Stena Supreme is one of the largest ships completed by the shipyard of Samsung Heavy Industries. The vessel was ordered at price of 17 million USD, as part of the renovation of the Concordia Maritime’s fleet. The company already has one crude carrier, ten product tankers and two Panamax tankers.
