Monday marks the start of ticket sales for Tall Ships 2013. The festival is gearing up to be the biggest yet–to the delight of Duluth shops, stores, and other businesses!
“We have lots of plans coming together,” said Terry Mattson, CEO and President of Visit Duluth. “we’re expecting record attendance. It’s something that, I think, Minnesota and northern Wisconsin can be very proud of.”
With eight ships contracted already, and a potential for three more sailing in, the predicted 11 tall ships will make 2013 the biggest year yet.
Duluth businesses, especially those in Canal Park are already getting excited for the visitors.
“This event helps us with our rates and sales because of the pent up demand for people on these tall ships,” said General Manger of the Canal Park Lodge Jim Paquette.
A fresh tradition that brings home the bacon to our local economy.
“Our inventories are probably the highest levels they ever are at and this year it will be bigger and better than ever because there’s more boats coming than ever before,” said Debbie Bolen of the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory.
Monday morning at 10 a.m., you can get tickets online, or with a quick phone call.
