Costamare bought container ship Messini
The container ship Messini was sold for 6,800,000 USD to the Greek shipowner Costamare. The financial part of the deal was cleared as the new owners paid all the acquisition price and taxes. The vessel was built in 1997 and fully repaired and maintained in 2010 and the condition is almost perfect. The Greek company Costamare agreed for time charter with Evergreen for a period of 18 months with daily value of 8,100 USD. The thrifty charter will repay large part of the amount of the container ship Messini. It is expected the ship to be delivered on 23rd September 2012. The order will expand the fleet of Costamare Shipping, as at presence the company owns 48 container vessels, with total capacity of 242,500 TEU. The largest ship owned by Costamare is the giant Cosco Guangzhou and the four other sister-ships chartered by Cosco.

Scorpio Tankers Inc sold STI Diamond
The worldwide provider of marine transportation of petroleum products Scorpio Tankers Inc sold the vessel STI Diamond, which was one of the smallest but most effective vessels of the company. The oil tanker was built in 2008 by Stx Offshore & Shipbuilding in their shipyard in Jinhae, South Korea. The cargo ship STI Diamond has length of 183.00 m, beam of 32.00 m and maximum draft of 10.90 m. The deadweight of STI Diamond is 51,246 DWT, while the gross tonnage is 29,955 GRT. The vessel was part from the fleet of Scorpio Tankers Inc till the year of building, but due to innovation of the fleet and the financial and debt crisis in the maritime transport, the company was urged to sell it to new shipowner. The company is planned to sell one more oil tanker - STI Coral till then end of September 2012.

The container ship Northern Trust was sold to Chinese shipowner
The container ship Northern Trust was sold to new Chinese shipowner at the price of 6.0 million USD. The cargo ship was part from the fleet of the German company Schluter Karl Reederei, which had serious plans for renovation and improvement of the fleet, making it more flexible and profitable. The new owners of the vessel is a Chinese company, which name is still not announced. The vessel has capacity for 3,300 TEU and good condition, which will allow it to enter in service after the delivery. The container ship Northern Trust was built in 1993 by Hyundai Heavy Industries in their shipyard in Ulsan, South Korea. The ship is operating under the flag of Liberia and registered in Germanischer Lloyd. The vessel was previously owned by CMA CGM and Cosco, but a few years ago was sold to the German company Schluter Karl Reederei. Th previous names of the ship were Cosco Bremerhaven, Cosco Norfolk, Choyang Phoenix and Ville De Lyra.

Conti Seattle was sold to Greek shipowner
The container ship Conti Seattle was sold to Greek Shipowners at price of 5.2 million USD. The cargo ship was owned by Conti Navigare Schiffahrts GmbH & Co and managed by NSB Niederelbe Schiffahrtsgesellschaft mbH & Co. The sale of he container ship will highly support the financial situaion and willsolve some of the debt poblems of the German shpowner. The company announced some of the ship for sale, as part for lage renovation of the fleet and offering more flexible fleet. Definitely such sale will support the financial situation of the German company, which is highly pressed by the investors, banks and shareholders. The sale of container ship Conti Seattle was brokered by the Greek company Alemar Shipping Ltd, but the new owner is not announced in pulicity. The vessel has a few previous names - Delmas Libreville, Tiger Bay, Apl Melbourne, Vancouver, Ivory Star 1, Ccni Antartico and Sea Lynx.

PRISCO sold two bulkers to Greek company
The Russian shipowner PRISCO Corp sold its two bulk carrier to the Greek company Navious at total price of 42 million USD. The two vessel PRISCO UDOKAN (IMO:9558907) and PRISCO ABAKAN (IMO:9558892) are sister ships, built in 2009 in the South Korean shipyard Stx Offshore & Shipbuilding. The both bulk carriers have length of 190.00 m, beam of 32.00 m and depth of 10.50 m. The deadweight of the vessels are 57,334 DWT each and the gross tonnage is 33,218 GRT each. The deal is part from the big renovation and restructure of the company, which PRISCO Corp started last year with selling six aframax ships to its rival SCF (Sovcomflot). The company lost the competition for carrying Russian crude oil and lost a lot of its contracts, so during the financial crisis PRISCO Corp was in front of bankruptcy with increasing debts and low value of cargo carried. The FPSO Maersk Peregrino was sold
The most expensive Maersk FPSOs ship Maersk Peregrino was sold to a joint venture company, established by the Norwegian oil company Statoil and their Chinese partner Sinochem. The price of the sale of the largest floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) unit was announced to be over 1 billion USD, which is also the largest investment, which both companies are making in their joint venture. The global FPSO contractor BW Offshore will charter and take the control of Maersk Peregrino after a transition period of about six months. The CEO of Maersk FPSOs - Stig Hoffmeyer, announced the the company is constantly updating, optimising and investing in modern technologies, which causes the upgrade of their fleet and portfolio. The manager added that this may include divestments, if timing and conditions are right.

Greek shipowner ordered ten 13,800 TEU container ships in Hyundai Heavy Industries
Greek shipowner ordered ten 13,800 TEU container ships in the shipyard of Hyundai Heavy Industries at total price of 1.2 billion USD. The ships will be in the class of the largest container vessel, but according to the agreement will be designed with new engineering technology to have over 10% lower fuel consumption, compared with same size vessel. The name of the Greek ship-owner is not announced, but the ships will be chartered by Evergreen Marine and will be used for long distant voyages between Europe and Asia. The modern technology of the shipbuilder Hyundai Heavy Industries will highly increase the speed and cargo capacity of the ship, which will make it more profitable and most environmental, according to the requirements of the Greek shipowner. The ten 13,800 TEU container ships will be delivered between the second half of 2013 and the second half of 2014.
